Facing Martyrdom, Umar (RA) Seeks Only Allah's Approval

 When Hazrat Umar (RA) was stabbed and the time of martyrdom approached, Hazrat Sahab Ruma (RA) arrived and began to weep, saying, "Oh Umarah, oh beloved, oh brother!"

At this, Hazrat Umar (RA) said, "Oh Sahab (RA)! Do not praise me if Allah does not reward me for any deed. If He simply leaves me even, I will consider it a blessing."
